Hyundai IONIQ 9 Production - No Man's Factory

Hyundai Motor Group has officially inaugurated its Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Ellabell, Georgia—marking the largest economic development project in the state’s history and a major milestone in the Group’s U.S. strategy. Built in under two and a half years, this next-generation smart factory begins production with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the IONIQ 9 electric SUV, with a Kia model set to join in 2026. With initial capacity for 300,000 vehicles per year and the ability to produce both EVs and hybrids for Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia, HMGMA showcases the Group’s commitment to American innovation, sustainability, and workforce development. Backed by a $12.6 billion investment in Georgia and further plans to invest $21 billion more in the U.S. by 2028, Hyundai aims to create over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs, including 14,000 full-time positions. The plant integrates advanced manufacturing technologies—from AI-driven logistics and robotic assistance to Boston Dynamics’ Spot for quality control—making it one of the most automated in the Group. Architecturally, HMGMA blends tech and nature, offering a human-centered environment with natural light, eco-friendly energy via solar panels, and a 41-acre recreational park for employees. This bold move positions Hyundai as a driving force in the future of mobility, made in America, for America. Do you like it?
